Now THERE'S a tough question!
OF COURSE I still like much of his music; the same stuff I ALWAYS liked.
But in terms of how he is perceived by the general public - I'm afraid MJ has cut his OWN throat!!!!
I'm not sure if he's just completely OBLIVIOUS.... or simply doesn't CARE how the rest of the world sees his "eccentricities" - but either way, his name has become synonomous with "child molester"; not only THAT, but GAY child molester, which is even WORSE! He doesn't seem to comprehend the fact that his "love" for children is not normal, natural, or even remotely ACCEPTABLE to decent society. It's a form of MENTAL ILLNESS, and he obviously does not feel the need to get HELP! His solution to all his problems is to run away & hide from his fans and former fans - the public. I think he'll probably spend the rest of his life as a recluse. Not out of a deep sense of SHAME for his perverse acts, but because he feels he has been "victimized". What he probably still doesn't understand, is that he brought this whole mess on HIMSELF - and he's done it many times over! They say once a pedophile, ALWAYS a pedophile, but you'd think by now MJ would take a good hard look at "the man in the mirror" - and DO something to redeem his tarnished image!!!!
I feel very very sorry for him. But I also feel sorry for all those little boys who lost their innocence because of him, and will be scarred for LIFE!

I have always liked most of his music and I don't understand why anyone could or would stop liking someone's music because of his private life. I have never known the person so I will never know if I would have liked him or not. A person could be bad or good but that doesn't mean you automatically like nor dislike what they do. I agree that his private life is private, as I would with any other famous person. People can speculate but I have always and will always be of the view that if you have never met someone and you have seen no evidence, you can not and should not judge them. His music is still the same whatever kind of person he is so I have no reason to stop liking it.

I will forever love the wildly talented, sensitive and artistic Micheal. I had the pleasure of meeting him briefly in 1986 and again in 1988. I was completely astounded when he remembered having met me the first time! Aside from this, though, he is such a gifted person, his music stands the test of time and will forever as far as I am concerned. In regards to his private life, it should be that, private! Too many people who know nothing about the facts are too quick to condemn him. I choose to believe he is innocent of what he has been accused of and apparently so do the courts, that should be the end of it!

It truly depends. Some people see the whole picture, and can't really separate the music from the private life. I'm one of those people. I think every time you hear a song that is familiar to you (such as Bad) then you connect it with the artist a little bit, like watching "Annie Hall" and thinking about how Woody Allen married his step-daughter
But then again, I still like Woody Allen.

He will probably have to die before his music becomes his legacy which is a shame as he was such a brilliant performer. I saw him in 1986 at Wembley Stadium and every ounce of him performed for us. His private life may be the subject of speculation and controversy and there have been many famous people whose lives have gone down a similar path, but he has to be one of the greatest performers ever, whether you like his music or not, and that should be his legacy.......

yes I do. Whatever he apparently did i never believed and even If I was not a fan I can see the guy has issues but name me a famous person who hasn't
While I was getting pick on at School or there was a crisis at home it was MJ's music I turned to. I loved his stuff as a kid and also like Janet. As I grew older (Im 24 now) I still listen to his music (not like I use to as a child) and collect anything of his I can get my hands on. No idea why. Now I listen to Prince, Lenny Kravitz and Red Hot Chili Peppers as well as MJ and Janet.

Definitely!! His personal life is none of my business and I don't believe that he molested any kids either! His music is timeless and I will always enjoy listening to it no matter what the media says! So he's a little odd, most geniuses are! He will always be a legend and he will always be THE KING OF POP!!

Thriller was the best music video ever !!!
Downloaded it off itunes and its like a movie, its a classic..... that was him at his best .... shame all icons have to fall . I'll remember him for his music not the contraversy about kids....
Not that I think kid stuff is good , if he did (and I don't think we'll ever know) he deserves prison ... but you can't hide the fact he was a legend in his time.
