Yes, I love to look at my flowers while I am in the house as well as in the garden. In bouquets, it's sometimes easier to appreciate individual flowers' forms, colors, scents, etc. It's also fun to combine different flowers and foliage - sort of an art project.
Are you feeling that it is harsh to remove the flowers from the plants? It really doesn't harm them, and in many cases, it prolongs the life of the plant, since annuals will die after they set seed. Since the purpose of the flower is to set seed, cutting the flowers keeps the plant alive for longer.
And although I don't believe that my flowers have any level of awareness, if they did, I think they would be pleased that I love their beauty so much that I want to enjoy it while I am in the house, too.

I do, but I grow flowers, and most of the ones which make nice cut arrangements NEED to be cut, and then they bloom ever so much more! There is a zinnia that is even named 'Cut and Come Again' because after you cut from the stems, they bush up and have twice the flowers! Good deal to be so 'harsh', huh? :)

Yes, it is a little bit of a shame to pick them. They do look lovely left in the garden. Sometimes, though, the fragrance of flowers can lighten up a room and that is a good thing.

So grow as many as you can in your garden, to offset any that you cut. Lots of people don't even have a garden- for whatever reason- more's the pity. So you are lucky, as am I.

Most definitely.

I adore being given flowers. Or just cutting them from the garden.

Gorgeous.

look at it this way if you cut the flower before they set seed then you get more flowers and it doesn't hurt the plant just encourages it to grow more

I figure that I planted them, watered them, fertilized them, weeded them, took care of them, so if I want to cut some off and enjoy them in my house, you bet I am going to.
