Do you think maybe you could try grinding them up and putting them in a glass of juice or milk? Also, if the problem is that yours are just too big, try a different brand. You do not have to take the prescription vitamins. They sell them over the counter at wal-mart, target, grocery stores, etc. I bought prenatals at walmart for I think around $5 a bottle, the bottle was pink but I can't remember the name. You only take one a day, and they are fairly small. Also, in comparison they had more calcium than the prescription pills, and a few extra vitamins. My doctor told me as long as the bottle says Prenatal, that they will be just fine. And P.S. Yes, prenatal vitamins must have extra iron in them. Your body needs the extra because you are supplying blood to the fetus.

I am surprised that no pharmacy has any of the chewables. Have you asked them when they will have them available? If the wait is too long you can just take other chewable vitamins. It does not have to be prenatal any kind will do. I know women who took the Kids flintstones chewable because they had a hard time taking the big ones that you mentioned

With my first pregnancy I thought that I had to take them all the time like I was told no matter what or my baby would turn out with only one arm and no legs or something like that. Well they made me so incredibly sick that I couldnt even keep water down. My doctor prescribed e all different kinds and none of them would stay down, well after I lost 20 pounds he finally told me to just take Flinstone vitamins. By that time though it was too late and I lost my baby. With my second pregnancy I started off with just Flinstone vitamins because I didnt want to lose that baby also and now he is 6 months old and healthy as a horse. What I would suggest for you is to talk to your doctor as soon as possible and see if you can take Flinstones instead. Your baby will not suffer any harm if you switch and it may make your pregnancy easier on you. I wish you the best of luck with your pregnancy and delivery.

I would check with your Dr., but you might ask if there are a few single vitamins you can add so you can take smaller pills-you should definitely be taking some extras like the folic acid and others. They are huge-I have 5 kids and it was a struggle- I finally ended up taking them every 2nd day instead of daily, as long as I knew I was eating healthy!

Hi-I take a liquid supplement, OML by Omnilife, just mix in juice, try thier office number for info 512 326 1188. These are not specifically for prenatal, but I have been using this supplement for almost 9 years, I am on baby # 8, and I really love this supplement.

With my first pregnancy they gave me these big prenatal pills and they made me throw up blood so the doctor told me to stop taking them and my baby was fine and with my second I never took them and she was fine and now I am pregnant again and not taking them. Just eat a lot of dark green vegetables it had a lot of folic acid which is good for the baby. Also speak to your doctor for more advice. Good Luck and congrats!!!

I have never heard of the chewable ones. I used to cut my vitamins in half and take them like that.

Walmart sells some prenatal vitamins...I forget the brand, but they are small and pink. The bottle is pink too. Its good to take prenatals, but be sure to eat good as well. The vitamins should just be a SUPPLEMENT to what you are eating...the food is where your real nutrients should come from! Good luck.

Try a pill crusher or check with your nearby vitamin store and explain your situation. Pre natal vitamins need to have a good dose of Folic Acid, but little to no iron.

You might want to check the store brands and see if they are any smaller. I know Target sells them... If you don't have any luck that way, then try cutting them in half when you take the big ones.

Good luck!!
