To stop it dead in it's tracks--
Clean it first. I would use bleach and tide mix in water.
Then PAINT IT with Permawhite interior house paint by Zinnser.
You can buy it at Lowes or Home Depot and it has a 5 year warranty against mold growing back on it.
The problem with the cleaners mentioned in this thread is that they have NO efficacy. that is, when they are dry they no longer do anything. They do not prevent anything. The Permawhite can be tinted any light colors (upt t 20oz of tint) and will NOT LET IT GROW back guaranteed.
I do that for Hurricane and flood restoration. It works.

I've found a product called "Mean Green", is the best thing I've found for removing mold and mildew, as well as most anything else. Not only does it do a great job cleaning, but the smell is pleasant also. You can also use it for an occasional wipe down, to prevent it from returning. Good Luck.

You can get this product called sodium triphosphate at any hardware/home improvement store. It's super cheap. You make a paste with it and it dissolves the mold and also prevents regrowth.

I have had this before, I used bleach to clean it and then when it dried I would seal it with a Kiltz, (stain sealer, primer, paint dept.) and then paint over it. I`m not sure about how to stop it, because it comes from your windows sweating and moisture getting in from the screens. You might call someone at Lowes in the window department and ask them.
Sorry I couldn't help anymore.

Try Tilex mold and mildew cleaner, it has bleach in it and should kill the mold and prevent it from coming back, if it does you may want to see if your window is properly sealed, try re-caulking it to prevent moisture from coming in.

Of direction they do not desire you to detect it, however come on, it is stuffed with a wide variety of mighty chemical compounds; do you relatively consider it is well to reveal your lungs to an aerosol of this combination, permit by myself everyday?
