A porch is an open usually elevated right ouside of a door. A lani is a screened in area usually on the backside of a house that can somtimes have a pool in it ( depending on where you live, it's very common in Florida where I used to live.)

first,, it is called a lanai!! not leni and lanai's are hawaiian patios and nothing in common with a porch
