The argument in 2re2 2's questions is far from that concerning Gay Marriage.

The problem is that trees and animals can't give consent. If the argument is heterosexual and keeping "the sanctity of marriage, would it be possible for a 45 year old man to marry a 13 year old girl? They're both straight, they can reproduce, what's the issue. Consent between two adults. Why is it such a crime for two grown men/women who love each other to get married?

In my personal opinion, the reason that gays aren't being allowed to marry is for the same reason that Blacks and Whites weren't allowed to marry; if a Conservative doesn't think it's right, then obviously the whole country shouldn't think it's right.
What kills me is the pricks that compare it to necrofilia or bestiality. That is proof that the whole damn world isn't ready for a civilized conversation, let alone the immature little kids on Yahoo! Answers.

A 13 and 45 year old, maybe that was okay way back when. But in this day in age, that is wrong on so many levels, regardless if their straight or not. 13 is a time of youth, it should be enjoyed, not spent getting married and raising babies.

i really don't understand why people think that a person marrying a dog and a person marrying their own gender is the same. that is the most stupid thing i have EVER heard.

gay marriage doesn't change anything, only it allows two consenting ADULTS to marry, which is awesome. please quit affiliating this with trees and junk. are trees humans? no.

Also, many people get divorced. How is that not destroying the sanctity of the institution?

Trying to attack the arguments of those against gay marriage won't work: they're prejudiced, and that overrides logic.
