Hm, I'm not sure about a movie where the son dies in a plane crash, but in Julianne Moore's the Forgotten the plot is similar and she believes her son died in a car crash, and like you said her husband denied ever having a son.

Telly Paretta is tormented by the memory of her eight-year-old son Sam's death in a plane crash 14 months ago.
