Take a coffee can, a small {1/4"} wooden dowel and a plastic funnel with the spout ID larger than the dowel diameter. The dowel should be longer than the rim of the can is tall, drill a tiny hole in the spout of the funnel so that you can place a straight pin in it bisecting the hole.{if the plastic the funnel is made of is soft enough just push the pin through both sides of the spout about 1/4" above the point where the flair starts} Next put a "V" notch in one end of the wooden dowel Glue the remaining flat end of the dowel up-right and centered on the bottom, inside of the can. Be sure to use an epoxy or other waterproof glue. Then place the funnel up side down {Lamp shade like} so the pin sits in the "V" notch. Spray the outside of funnel and top edge of the can with non stick cooking spray. if you wish to end the critters life just fill the can 2/3 full of tap water if you want a live capture don't add the water. Don't forget the bait, I use peanut butter and bread worked together in a soft ball and pushed into the small end of the spout. Good Luck.

I woke up to be vegan around the turn of the century. So I reccomend those "live traps" if you need to get a mouse out of the house. I forget the brandname but I bought some a few years back, and they worked fine. A little peanut butter and then the mouse was released out into the woodlot.

When I was in HS we did make 'live traps" which consisted of a coffee can, or some large can liek that.... a ridgid wire mesh piece of metal and a standard old 'killing mouse trap". The KMT was taken apart and it was used for it's spring action...it was fastened to the can with the wire mesh on it , the only thing I forget is how it was triggered I mean teh creature cam into teh can after the bait and the mesh thing swung up over the open end of the can and well there you have it

I made an improvised trap when we got an unwelcome visitor. You need a bucket, a 4 pint empty plastic milk bottle, a pile of books and a ruler. Bait the bottle with some muesli (it works much better than cheese or chocolate). Put it on the top of the pile of books on it's side so that the closed end is on the point of overbalancing. Put the bucket underneath and arrange the ruler as a ramp. The mouse will run up the ramp, into the bottle which will overbalance into the bucket. The bucket stops the bottle falling on its side so the mouse can't climb out. Now you can put the lid on and you've got a bottled mouse. You can either release it in the park or use it for a reign of terror.

This one worked for me-- a stiff brown paper bag-- the size two loaves of sandwich bread fit into. A piece of bacon (raw). Open the bag, put the bacon stuck on a corner of the bottom-- lay down the bag with the bacon in the upper side-- the mouse gets in, jumps for the bacon, sets the bag upright and can't get out-- now this won't work for a week--
sure worked for me.

a milk bottle (one of the old wide neck type if you can find one ) with a bit of milk left in on it's side with the neck resting on a brick on it's side, so it's slightly sloping.

The mouse is attracted by the smell, but it's feet slide when it tries to get out of the bottle.

This is a humane trap. Not designed to kill the little critters, just catch them so you can relocate them.

( Perhaps into the garden of that neigbour who don't seem to like you much )

Happy trappin

out of a razor blade, a piece of string ,old bar of soap, a small lump of cheese.
to assemble the trap, find a small opening on the mouse run ,
attache the cheese to the string, place the razor blade on edge, into the bar of soap, adjust hieght of string to just above blade when swinging to and fro, lie in wait for the mouse when he appears release string and cheese in a slow swing, the mouse will smell the cheese ,look left.look right. and in doing so will cut his own throat on the blade. good luck LF

a glass bottle put it on the floor with the open end tipping up, maybe put a match box under it. and put food at the bottom. the mouse will get in but cant get out as it will slide down because of his claws.... its humane and doesn't hurt the mouse and you can let it go into the wild again...
