Is buying site visitors really worth the money?

I have a web site. I sell computer software. I have seen lots of sites saying that I can buy "10,000 or more visitors for 39.95" or more. Some say that they are just computers. Others say that is a good way to get people to your site. What you think?

Buying visitors is a good way to get banned from Google search. I wouldn't do that if I were you. One guy did it and he had to give up his whole business.
