Anti-Abortions Activist????

Question

I stay in Ypsilanti, every couple of days on Michigan Ave. right in the center of town during rush hour these anti abortion activist keep coming out and they are standing right on the side of the road with signs that have giant pictures of bloody deformed fetus's from abortions gone wrong. Now i have no problem with people voiceing there opinion but when your standing on the side of the road with a picture like that, youve went too far. People are picking up and driving around with little kids (the protestors had there kids out there too!!!)in the car and the little kids have to see pictures of this stuff. Last time I checked any movie with content like this is rated R. They also recently got a camper truck and a van with blown up pictures on the sides and back and peope just walking inbetween traffic sticking flyers through peoples car windows without asking. What is a parent supposed to say to their kid when they ask whats that???

Oh and I just witnessed them cause a accident yesterday because someone was looking at their signs and didnt see the red light or the stoped car in front of him, the police seem to not care or cant do anything about it because the police station is RIGHT around the corner

start a petition.. call the front desk of the police station every 15 minutes and complain (non-emergency!).. or bring it up to the city council.

but i'm very sorry you're having this problem! i deal with the same on schaefer in east dearborn, but it's not a large gathering and there are no stops there. they do have a horrible van and yell things at people while holding obscene signs though. how rude they are! if you do end up starting a petition i'm sure you'll find many people will sign it!

I think there is a limit to free speech when it comes to endangering the lives of others. I would suggest that you call or contact your city council member and ask if something can be done to make driving safer. There are laws in the state of Michigan about walking in traffic and obstructing the flow of traffic. I'm all for freedom of speech but there are limits to what is safe.
Many of these people I would consider extremists, and it's not right that our children should have to be exposed to this kind of thing. Heck, I don't want to be exposed to that, either! I don't understand that they will kill someone and blow up buildings for their causes. Are they any different than terrorists?

I live in NYC and there are people protesting something here every freaking day. If its not pro-Israel its anti-Israel. Peta or pedophiles united. Whatever.
It is what makes us different from dictatorships around the world.

If it is an actual danger to anyone, then call the police. They will have to make sure they have the proper permits and are behaving in a way that is not a danger to anyone.

Check to see if they have a valid permit to protest in your town. If they do, and you see traffic actually slowing down and becoming hazardous because of their protest, call the police and notify them of the possibility of an accident on the street near the protest site.

While they have the legal right to protest, they must follow all laws and not be a hazard in the place in which they do protest.

nicely, this could be a brilliant question, and one which you will get a brilliant form of solutions to i'm specific. Now, i don't consider abortion one bit, i think of it is homicide and in basic terms because of fact it is criminal and it is a "precise" does not make it ok. I definitely have a a million year previous and that i undergo in techniques being pregnant and feeling her kick and seeing her moving around on the ultrasound and no you could actually tell me she wasn't a human yet! regardless of if, i don't %. up wood signs and indications and stand on highway corners protesting and exhibiting bloody fetus photos. I do see it as surprising and slightly sickening, yet i've got self assurance they're attempting to do exactly that--ask your self and disgust human beings. i individually wish i don't could desire to make certain the photos, and that i'm hoping my daughter does not see them.... yet i can not help yet think of that if this reasons even in basic terms one pregnant youthful woman to alter her determination from aborting her toddler to giving it existence, then maybe it is nicely worth it. it is a suitable occasion of the liberty we've in usa. Freedom to make possibilities, and freedom to protest those we don't consider.
