Practice, practice, practice. Get to know every musician you can find. It's all about who you know, but you have to have the chops to go along with it.

to become famous as a drummer ....
if you have talent... then join a band make some records and the to be famous you would proberbly have to die in some unfortunate accident that would cut you off in your prime and rob the world of an immense talent.
If you have little to No talent.... then this is somewhat easier... firstly you have to join any old band... ( as a drummer ) give up your job... ( technically you are now a "drummer" ). then do something really stupid like assasinate someone... someone famous of course, polleticians presidents, and pop stars are favoured targets ( top tip... there are still two Beatles left and about 2/3rds of the world would be lenient on you doing Bush ).
whichever way you choose i hope your name becomes immortalised and an easy question in any trivia quizz just like the blokes that did "lennon" and " kennedy".... now what were their names????

practise hard so u blow ppl away . practise rudiments evry day and get out and play in bands. if u think ur good enuff , start a website and blow ur trumpet. famous drummers are 99 percent of the time very very good. its not always about knowing ur chops but being able to hold an excellent groove and filling when neccesary. over playing can be a real problem, so dont try too hard. can piss band members off. failing that be totally outrageous and live on the edge, party hard and eat gross stuff on stage. also destroyin ur kit if u can afford it is a real crowd pleaser lol. good luck

anyways then you need to either get into a band.. hunt around see if they need drummers!!
or form your own band!!
what your are asking is like asking how do i get famous.. u just have to appeal to the right people hpe for a record deal and then your status can build!! i think that is the only way!

Drumming your heart out, and keep your eyes open for ads looking for drummers. Or advertise yourself in a music magazine.

Listen to all the greats of drumming in every genre. Guys like Buddy Rich, Keith Moon, Neal Peart and Stewart Copeland to name just a few. Study their techniques and develop your own style from what you learn.

Plan A: Find a talented but uncharismatic singer-songwriter. when people latch on to his/her catchy songs steal the show.
Plan B: Find talented charismatic band where you all become stars. Better, but harder.
Plan C: Lead even sleazier life of drugs and fornication than the rest of the band.Not recommended exactly, but it worked for Keith Moon.

You mean in a rock group? There aren't any apart from maybe Ringo Starr. Be a singer if you want to be famous.

buy a drum 2 sticks go up-town and bang them drums on the corner of a police station! that will make you famous when you hit the news.
