False. Neutral is NOT a gear at all so why would you count it as one ? Neutral is a space, half a stroke between First and Second gears. When you shift UP from First into Second or, when you shift DOWN from Second into First, you don't shift twice do you ? No, you shift only once ( one full stroke ) passing Neutral on the way.

No, neutral is not a gear at all.

Shifts are usually listed as 1-2 , 2-3 etc... not 1-N-2

No, Neutral is a half step between first and second gear. It disengages the transmission to allow for engine start and idleing without engaging the clutch. Since it is between first and second gear, that is why the shift pattern is down to first, up up up up into second, third fourth, and so on.

Keep the rubber side down.

When you shift from first to second on a motorcycle, you lift the gearshift until it makes a sort of double click. Although you've gone through neutral, you only make one motion to go from first to neutral to second. Or at least you should - there have been times I've accidentally not lifted it hard enough and gone into neutral by mistake.

A gear is a part of the transmission that moves your bike.

"Neutral" is that empty space between the gears that allows you to idle without holding in the clutch lever.

Neutral is not a gear.

hi there,
neutral is not a gear.it is when the gears on the main shaft(driving shaft) are not connected to the driven shaft.the power is not transmitted to the driven shaft and hence the power doesnt reach gear box.gears are not engaged in neutral position.Neutral is a position of gear as like 1st ,2nd,3rd etc........

Don't worry....I get what you mean. No. When you shift from first, to second, you don't double shift. The shifter will go straight past the neutral position, with one upshift. If you upshift twice, you'll go straight to third. You'll only hit neutral, if you don't positively upshift.
