What is the purpose of living?

To live a life for others and have a definite plan to do so, makes a life worth living. We are all here to glorify God, if you are a bottom line kinda person.

I'll cut-n-paste my answer from another recent, almost identical question:

"We" don't have a purpose per se.

From a strictly genetic viewpoint, you could say it is to propagate our genes.

The religionists would believe that our purpose is to serve god (theirs, of course) or give some other religious-based answer.

But those first two "purposes" don't do us justice as sentient beings with free will. In both cases, these purposes reduce us to mere pawns in a greater plan not our own, denying us our individual sovereignty.

There is only one purpose that can have any true meaning in our lives, and that is the purpose that we each discover--or create--for ourselves.

I think we are just living, because we are not dead.

If our purpose of living is love, then if your loved one is dead, then you should be die. because you don't have purpose of living.

If out purpose of living is rasing child, then if you are unable to have child, then you should be die, because you don't have pupose of living.

we don't live for our pupose.

Our life does not have purpose.
we love to put meaning on our life.
But I think there's none.

I think our life is like traveling in train.
we get in the train by born in this world
and
we get off the train by death.

we get happy, angry,love, and sad during life.
I think that's similar to viewing landsacpe outside train throught the window.
If we viewing outside through the window,then we will feel those feelings.
There are good sight and bad sight in outside of train.
Because train is running , its sight changes.
However, If we just sleeping in the train. we will not see nothing.
we will not feel any of those feelings.

What would you choose?
I rather choose watching outside of window, even if I can feel sad and angry.
because I can fell love and happy somethims.

But some people choose to sleep in the train.

To Propegate the species. Some people can't live with that answer though so they must find something else to believe in like Religion or God to keep them going.

It can be hard for a human being to accept that they aren't much more or different from animals.

To atone for relative faults incurred in this or previous existences, not thru 'punishment' but thru exposure to energies similar to the ones we've generated and exposure to new, purifying and balancing ones. Some people might say "Well, but I don't believe in reincarnation." I say that the ultimate proof of something is how it remains true regardless of what we believe. If something is really true, it is so whether we believe in it or not. So how are we to know what is what? The answer is that there is a certain level of us that does know, if only we allow ourselves to access the voice buried deep within us, the one that's hardly ever allowed to be heard beyond all the noise.

make your own purpose if you don't know what your role in the world is. it makes it much easier to live than just living without doing anything in your life.

you could also help save the world in your own small way.
