I'm scared of purchasing them a size too big or too small, that is. Since shoes tend to vary so greatly from brand to brand I don't buy them online unless I've purchased them before. In comparison with other shoes, do Birkenstocks tend to be true to size or do they run a little small? I'm a size 10 converse sneakers. Do you think size 10 Birkis would be a good fit?

Birkenstocks are not sized the way shoes in the USA are. They're European sized. You should probably go to a store and try some on first, although there will likely be a size recommendation chart on the shoe store's website.

If you have a wide foot go a size up to be on the safe side. if you are looking for the best buy for Birkenstock, try HSN.com, they should have a selection of varying sizes and colors
