We are now seeing just exactly how our arrogance is coming back to bite us on the a**!! I really think we've pushed aside the memory and meaning of what happened to us on 9-11-01--and it's mostly because our so-called "leadership" couldn't see past its own ignorance and arrogance to make something positive come out of it! Worse yet, we are apathetically ALLOWING them to get away with it all, from the lying to start a war, to the illegal wiretapping of our fellow citizens, to the vengeful outing of Valerie Plame, to who-the-hell-knows what they're NOT telling us?!! From the early American Indians, to the buying and selling and torturing of black people in our country, we have a history of the kind of savage nature that is so pertinent to your excellent question: being aggressive and ignorant and stealing oil just happens to be in our nature! Yes the oil corporations are stealing at the source and robbing the American consumer at the same time! If Chavez would have citgo sell at .50 cents a gallon here in USA he could break the stranglehold a save the American economy for the majority! But i am sure he is not interested in the challenge! 1) At $3.00 per gallon for gasoline we are stealing nothing.
2) The Us has a vastly different population distribution from europe and public transportation does not work as well here. Our climate in many of our population centers is colder than europe
3) Up until about 30 years ago the US was an oil EXPORTER. We have not politically been able to face the depletion of our natural resources
4) The US, like all nationalities, are proud of our country and have our own national intrests. Prime among them are to be secure in our places of business and not to freeze to death in them.
5)I would suggest that your question furthers a hidden adgenda of stealing americas wealth and power for yourself (without any real understanding of that power and wealth I might add) and that it is you that may be ignorant and agressive!
