I gave permission for a one-time debit of $500. I didn't even have that amount in the bank, so I'm negative $500 now, and when I get my next paycheck, the bank will just take it. Now I have no rent money, no grocery money and no money for school clothes for my kids. I am thinking death has got to be better than being broke all the time. Some encouraging words would be nice.

No, I had $500 in the bank to cover the charge, not $1500. I would never bounce a check.

yea you should contact the finance company asap.....if you gave permission for a 1 time pymt then it should only be a 1 time pymt only and they should be able to refund your money back w/out any hesitation.....when you call them don't get on the phone arguing w/them -tell them the situation your in and i bet they will give you your money back..if you get on the phone being rude no1 will help i work for customer service and if a customers starts arguing w/me i no longer feel for you......girl i know from experience how hard it can be....im not really a religious person but ask god for help and he will provide a way for you to be alright*good luck*

Having a plan of action helps to avoid fruitless panic.

1 Document your problem for everyone that is of concern.Including people you owe money. see what your bank can do for you.
2. Create urgency at the finance company. Complain at the highest levels in writing and verbally.
3. Complain at the highest levels outside of the finance company. This includes your State Attorney Generals Office. The Federal Trade Commission, State and National Banking regulators. Be good natured with potential allies, but make your focus giving headaches not getting them!
4.Use phone, fax, email certified return receipt mail.
5. Get family or friends to help in the short term.
6. Focus on action and planning.
7. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Have your bank return the two unauthorized debits.

Why did you authorize a debit when you did not have the money in your account? That's the same as writing a bad check.

Oh, ok. That wasn't clear from your post.

What does the authorization you signed say?

This is almost like Identity Theft. They have your account number and stealing from your account. Contact the BBB and see what they have to say about it; If it sounds too suspicious, Call the police.
