Agree. Intelligent discourse whether you agree with them or not - you continue listening because they present their positions so well.

PUBLIC tv is generally better, less biased than commercial TV. Their goals are completely different.

As for those saying "it's the voice of the left".. I agree.. the TRUTH will always be the voice of the left.. in the eyes of the right.

But, simply compare with other international media.. either everybody is crazy in the world, except the republican right wing, or the evidence is against them in large quantities. You should always suspect those who fear alternative sources.

Public news is "for the people, by the people".. it should be independent, so no commercial interests should pollute independent news.. no profit aims should pollute binging good quality news.. the only aim should be to properly inform citizens, and THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE AND RESPONSIBILITY like education.. That doesn't mean that the government should have any say in the programming, it should be chosen by the public PROPORTIONALLY and DEMOCRATICALLY.

That is what public tv is like here, and makes us better educated and aware of the world around us.. in shear contrast to american public.

I am of the opinion that NO radio station should be publicly funded. If you can't raise the dough to start your own left-wing, liberal-biased radio station, that's just too bad. Capitalism and a free market society works, y'all!

It's just a crying shame that this liberal crap not only is designed to feed the masses with repugnant hogwash, it teaches them how to swallow it, too.

When are you going to learn to use some critical thinking skills about ANYTHING from the government instead of just allowing your brains to get soaked like sponges full of dirty water?

Agree. Radio with a brain. And no shouting! Perhaps civil discourse is not dead in the U.S. after all...

I can't stand it.

-- and I really can't stand that my tax dollars goes to pay for it. Government has no business being in the news business.
