First off it's a "cyst". We are not doctors. You should be discussing all of this with your parents and your physician not strangers on the Internet. Your doctor has examined you. Not us. lol

A cysts is just a big fluid filled pocket, kind of like a water balloon, that has grown on you ovaries. If they aren't getting in the way of you having your periods and, in the future, in the way of having kids, then the doctor can do a couple of things. Birth control pills, surgery, or simply just waiting it out. If they are hurting, then they are probably getting bigger and more sensitive when you are ovulating or actually bleeding, because of the hormone increase. Make sure that you keep an eye on your periods and if they get heavier or don't seem like what you are used to, then they might have burst. That is usually fine and it is no concern to you or your body, but the doctor will need to know so if there is something to it, the doctor will know to look for what could become a problem.

Three years ago I was misdiagnosed a kidney infection, but a week later I was admitted to hospital with an abcess the size of a melon in my fallopian tube. It had burst causing other complications and I was in hospital for 5 weeks. I consequently went on to develop a cyst on my oposite ovary and apart from a couple of ultrasounds to check on it's size, I have been left alone. Different type of cyst required different treatment. Your doctor should refer you to a gynaecologist to determine what is going on.
