The easiest way is to log on to your yahoo email. Just under your gray happy face there is a link to create your avatar. When you are finished, dont forget to save it.

see what u do is when u got to ur yahoo mail that Little box will show up so click on it and it'll take u straight to yahoo avatar then customize the avatar the way u want it too look

Click on mail, then on the page is a little grey box: just click on it and go nuts!!

get on your e-mail click the square by the bulk and inbox and walla answer the question then make it

go to your mail page, click on the greyish box, se it up (outfits and stuff) save it!!! and then go to your profile here and click on it.
