Drift Away...Dobie Gray, is the original artist from the early 70's, The words were---Gimme some people that'll free my soul, I wanna get lost in your rock & roll, and Drift Away. If someone remade this, I don't know who. I don't listen much to music past the 80's. It stinks for the most part and alot of remakes and rap,yuck!

I think u mean "Drift Away" by Dobie grey from 1973. He also had a big hit in 1965 called "The In Crowd".
