When I was younger (10-17 or so) I loved roller coasters - I could ride indefinitely. Starting around age 18 or so, and getting worse as time goes on, I get nauseous on some rides and feel awful for the rest of the day. Even spinning around in circles can make me feel yucky. Has this happened to others as you age? Can anyone explain it?

I'm still fine on rollercoasters, but spinning rides (like the teacups) make me super nauseous. It only started happening as I got older. Even the kiddie rides that go around in slow circles that I've had to go on with my son make me sick.

I too am looking for some answers, I tried dramimine, but that didn't work either. I am 49 yrs. old and love going on rides but the overwhelming nausea I experience keeps me from enjoying the rides. I can't even plow snow anymore, the turning and movements make me sick.

Yes as you reach the age of 17-18 there are many harmonal changes that take place in your body. Also by 18 our body gets completely developed which results in many changes in our body.
So many people get such things. Maybe not the same but they can have allergies, also nausea, getting scared of heights and so on.

It has to do with your inner ear becoming more sensitive to change.Your balance is affected therefore you become sick when flipped and spun.Take some Dramamine before the rides just like you would before going on a boat or a long car ride. You should be fine...tom science

I have the same problem. It's called "Diagonal Stigmatism"
I wear glasses, so the stigmatism isn't corrected all the way around (I can still see out of the corner where there is no lense), BUT I've found that when I wear contact lenses...the problem is corrected better and no nausia.

Your inner ear is to blame.. That is why we could go on the Tilt A' Whirl 20 times in a row as kids, when you get older, one time is one time too many.
