Yes it seems that way to me too. When I have a period of good times, I almost get nervous because I feel like bad times are just around the corner. It seems as if my life has always been a cycle of ups and downs but I have always regarded that as normal, although I do know people who seem to have an uninterrupted high.

It's sort of like the old adage that says plane crashes come in threes. It seems we have cycles in life. Good things happen and all goes well until it's like a switch is flicked on somewhere and trials come one right after another. I'm reminded of Job in the Old Testament. He had it all, he was the richest man in the land until the devil told God that he could make Job denounce God. God told him he could try but he couldn't take his life. Poor old Job ended up losing everything and sitting in a pile of ashes covered with boils. But he never denounced God. In the end the devil gave up and everything (and then some) was restored to Job.
The lesson is that as long as we have faith things will get better and we will be stronger.
It's not superstition, it's just life as we know it!

Life is not cycles but a projection of what you believe. If you believe it is up and down then you are looking for that kind of future. If you are running your own show, it will follow by way of self full filling prophecy, the exact pattern you believe in. I suggest surrendering to God and letting your future be under His direction. he will only give you what you need to learn. then when this day is over forgedabadit and take tomorrow when it gets here. God is your father and He will not give you a stone, if you ask for bread. it takes faith to overcome a mindset of letting yesterdays into tomorrows.

No, I don't think it is superstitious. The karmic wheel of life goes round and round. We are always being taught life's lesson. Don't wait on the bad!! Deal with it when it comes. POSITIVELY expect all good, then your ATTITUDE is wholesome!! 'You get what you give only 10 times!' Every single religious book has the same principles.

Right on, kiddo... Now try to make sense of the patterns. It's more like the universe treats us like the 20 y.o. kid who's still living in the basement and won't move out. Sometimes you have to use tough love to get them to let go of the way they are living so they can learn more and move on. But hey, that's just one way to look at it...

It seems ups and downs always come unexpectedly...i dont think its really a cycle, unless your talking about how depressed and lonely some feel when they are teens. but no, i think its pretty random.
