I am ashamed to say this but I go to Wal-Mart. It is more convenient and less expensive.

Well some use those jobs as a second income. And a lot of them pay more then six or seven dollars, especially if they can move up into management. I know Wal-Mart starts their workers above min. wage and has benefits. Two family members have worked there. And yeah a lot of single parents recieve help from DSHS. Not sure if I helped answer your question or not. I agree on the President thing. :)

Can't stand Wallmart/Shopko any of them and I support local businesses. It's sad they've helped undermine the American worker and most of what they sell is complete crap. In other words we've outsourced jobs so we could have lot's of crap to buy and pay Wallmarts employee health insurance expenses through government assistance. Read Nickel and Dimed to Death, great book.

whenever possible, I try to support local businesses.

The Walmart-ization, and McDonald-ization, and MTV-ization of this country have (i) changed the economic landscape by concentrating more wealth and more decision-making into fewer hands and (ii) diminished the regional diversity that made America a rich and fascinating culture by driving the local aspects out of the marketplace and out of the culture.

When I buy my lottery ticket I always think "now who do I want to get the 1% commission on this when I win". I never buy them from Kiosks. I usually get them at a small store.
