Yes. The only reason it's not more oppressive is because it has been tempered by democracy, but it's been famously said that now that capitalism has defeated communism, its next target will be democracy.
Democracy is being eroded in every nation where a large gap between rich and poor exists. Campaign financing, lobbyists, media ownership are all problems. The result is that the average employee does not get his fair share of the company's revenue - more and more of it is going to the CEO and big shareholders.

I'm realy not big on isms or asims. What I reall think sucks though is not capitalism, it's fantacism, bushism and the rest of the mindless dis-regard to every one else trying to get by in this country. Christ you know it ain't easy.

THIS IS TOO GENERAL A STATEMENT.........CAPITALISM IS GREAT FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE INOVATIVE IDEAS AND CAN SELL THEM TO OTHERS AND MAKE A PROFIT. CAPITALISM IS ALSO GREAT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO A COMPANY IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE PAID VERY WELL TO DO SO. CAPITALISM ALLOWS FOR DREAMS WHICH ARE THE CORE OF A PERSON'S HAPPINESS. CAPITALISM THAT ALLOWS FOR A PERCENTAGE OF SOCIALISM: CARING FOR THE DISABLED AND AGED WHILE PROVIDING HEALTH CARE AND EDUCATION FOR ALL IS AWSOME !!!!!!!
