Kindness in and of itself can not be harmful, no. The consequences of a poorly thought out act of kindness most certainly can be harmful though.

sometimes kindness to someone isnt totlay in their best interest. Sometimes people need to be told things straight to their face, and not have things sweetened by kindness for them. And sometimes kind actions can be misunderstood, which then leads to confusion and problems. But most of the time i'd say kindness isnt harmfull...or maybe those things i said before arent really kindness anyway, because not confronting someone with a brutal truth isnt really kind to them...maybe Aesop is right then and "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."

Kindness is not harmful. Not in itself.
but kindness can be harmful to you or to anyone else if it is offered blindly, without understanding either the circumstances or the consequences.
but beware, dont let your doubts and your insecurity rob the world of one more kind heart. We seem to be loosing kind hearted people by the day....

No.
If the subject or the object of kindness is harmed, then it is not truly kindness. If we think telling white lies, out of kindness, is to benefit yourself or another, and then the product of that conception of kindness results in something very troubling and unkind, then you have to revise your conception of kindness. Good intention is not enough. You must be aware of many complicated causes and effects to be kind. Thinking motor oil is a good substitute for sunscreen, then offering to rub it onto someone's skin out of kindness is NOT kind.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day
Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime
I dont know, its the first thing that came to my head. But I suppose it can be in certain circumstances. For instance kindness given without caution can be harmful.

When codependency is considered kindness or knee jerk "I gotta' do it" Christian charity, heck yes. Being kind and untruthful rather than merely polite is harmful to the kind person, because it involves lying to oneself, and that is a violation of ones own personal integrity.

yes of course. Besides being an easy target, sometimes people are disillusioned by kindness. They need the good hard facts as a reality check.
