Most of the war-hawks believe that through force we are securing our way of life for future generations, it's not without some research that one may start to draw several different (or very few) conclusions to why things are really happening in the world as they are, people would rather just take for face value what the TV and media outlets impregnate their minds with.

Analytical thinking is becoming archaic and the people with an agenda would like you to only take notice about whats here and now, not to how we arrived to the present conditions.

It's a big elitist game and money is the controlling factor of it all. Nobody has time to worry about the world and world issues when their job has them working 40+ hours a week to pay off their huge credit debts and the media isn't covering even half of the news "stories."

Controlled ignorance is by far and away the most devastating WMD man ever conceived.

I believe that as a civilisation, The West, we are bcoming more paranoid and violent towards our 'enemies'.

Here in Europe, we're still coming to terms with not being the world leaders we once were. Our empires crumbled, our power was crushed and our economies collapsed during the Wars. We tend to be more anti-war and prefer diplomacy over violence

I like to see this period as Americas Teenage-years. The child of Europe is growing up, having tantrums and starting to learn that the universe doesnt revolve around it

When diplomacy is rejected as a first step, as it has been, we are left with a build up tensions till it seems that war is the only way. Diplomacy and negotiation were not invented just to talk to our friends, they are for dealing with enemies. The administration seems to have forgotten this, or maybe they never knew why countries talked before bombing.

You fail to see the bigger picture and you have the exact mindset of Europe in 1938. Japan had raped Nanking, Italy was in Abyssinia, Franco was finishing off Republican Spain and Europe slept.
Islamic Fascisim and her communist allies are on the march and the left wants to surrender.

Many Americans (not all) have become so desesitised to images of vioence that it has now become the norm and they applaud genocide blood death and the destruction of yet another country.

The sit on their very fat asses stuffing themselves with way too much GM induced processed crap watching censored news on Fox or CNN. Meanwhile the world press is reporting news as it happens and actually is. They are also reporting the disgust that the world is feeling at the continual bombardment of Lebanon and the genocide of innocents.

All over the world peole marched today to voice their disgust. We will never see this on Fox. Here is a specch from one of the BBC's sites made by the mayor of London today to the 200,000 who turned out to voice their disgust at Israel's actions and thirst for blood.

Livingstone, Mayor of London, has sent the following message of support to the `ceasefire now' demonstration in London on Saturday 5 August.

"I want to welcome this demonstration to London. Your slogan for an immediate ceasefire has the support of the majority of the people of London, Britain and the entire world.

"Given its financial and military dependence on the United States, Israel could not continue its massacres of civilians and the destruction of the civilian infrastructure of Lebanon and Gaza for one more day if there was a united demand for a ceasefire from the international community.

"That is being blocked by the U.S., unfortunately supported by government policy in this country. We must fight to reverse this, including by a recall of parliament to allow MPs to discuss the issue.

"In order to get civilians out of the firing line immediately, there should be a simultaneous ceasing of Israeli air attacks on Lebanon and of rocket attacks into Israel.

"This week it was revealed that Israel's destruction of Lebanon was planned before the capture of the two Israeli soldiers. Indeed, it is well known that Israel illegally holds nearly ten thousand Palestinian captives and has been holding Lebanese prisoners for many, many years.

"If their concern is captured soldiers, let all prisoners held by all sides be released immediately.

"This conflict has seen the collapse of Israel’s entire strategy of imposing unilateral solutions on the Palestinians and its neighbours by building a `separation wall’. It is now clear that all sides can strike deep into one another’s territory and no wall will remove that threat.

"There will no unilateral solution. The only way to solve this conflict is for Israel to negotiate with the democratically elected Palestinian Authority and the governments of Israel’s neighbours to reach a comprehensive settlement based on the implementation of all United Nation resolutions – which must include the commitment by Israel to withdraw from all of the territories it has occupied since 1967 in contravention of UN resolutions."

Christian conservatives are pro-war and like starting war on their competing religion, Islam.

The so-called "war on terror" is nothing more than a religious war, at least the Islamists can admit it, christians have to disguise it.

You should read about the crusades if you think we're blood thirsty now.

Our weapons may have changed, but war isn't exactly a "new" thing.

Your right, previous presidents should have taken care of the matter before it escalated. Now we have to take strong measures.

I agree with you. I guess if we lived in a perfect world, there would be no war. Maybe it's like poverty. Wouldn't you like to erase that? But it will always be with us. Sounds futile, I know, but it's also realistic.
