A red packet of kool-aid in the shower head. Make sure he is the next one to take a shower. *Unscrew the shower head, pour 1 to 2 packets in the base of the head and carefully screw back on*

Cheap, easy and washes back out....but it does look like blood when coming out!

If you can add a blood curdling scream when he turns the shower on, the better.

Here's one you might try. But it has to be done when he isn't home or... whatever. But I think it would be pretty obvious that you were responsible for it, it's still a good prank if you can get away with it.

Get a bottle of baby powder and some canned air (that you use to clean computers with). Place a little pile of the powder on the outside of the door while it is closed and use the canned air to blow it inside his room (or whatever). Repeat until everything is coated in a fine white powder.

Or, if he is really into computers (or doesn't know much about them). Take a screenshot of the desktop with the start bar and icons present, paste it into a photo editor (Windows paint will do) then delete all the icons from the desktop and save the screenshot as an image file, jpg will work. Then set the screenshot as the wallpaper, he will come back to his computer thinking it has locked up on him.

Prank call your house from like a cell phone (unless you have caller ID), and have "one of his friends" ask him to their house, so your mom or he drives to their house, his friend says they didn't invite him, and he'd have to be embarrased to say that someone invited him, and he might have trouble coming back home.

To make it even longer for him to go home, maybe ask your mom to buy something at a grocery store or somewhere else.
