Can anyone recommend somewhere that fits the following criteria? I am in the UK and thinking of somewhere in Europe but am open to suggestions! I'm looking for recommendations for a specific place, not suggestions for a country.
Fantastic scenery, with sea views and opportunities for some walking.
Possibly a fishing village?
Fresh fish, good freshly-cooked food and local wines.
Quiet: no nightclubs or loud chavvy tourists.
Lovely local characterful tavernas.
Good weather.
Some form of local culture or history.
Affordable prices.
We don't want to lie on the beach all day or go clubbing: we want to get fresh air, good local food, wine and beer, walks in lovely scenery, to talk to the locals, watch the sun go down over the harbour and generally chill out in a lovely environment.
If you can recommend accommodation as well as location, please do!

Sorrento, Southern Italy. Beautiful place. We stayed in the Hotel Grand Riviera. No complaints, easy walk into town, but also train station to take you anywhere, port to go to Capri (need a mortgage to afford any shopping on there but nice for walking, regular bus service and hotel offers a lot of trips out. Have a look on website for info. Or search on Google for hotel Grand Riviera, Sorrento

Oh and don't forget to visit Vesuvius & Pompeii, trust me after walk up the volcano, you'll be glad to sit down! As you don't want to sit on beaches maybe glad to know Sorrento doesn't have any lol

Smellyteddy says:
"Hi you should go to puerto plata in the dominican republic and stay at the fun royale/fun tropicale. They have an italian resturant there which serves brilliant fish and the staff are soo friendly. The sceany in puerto plata is breath taking especially if you go down to the beach in the early morning (about 4 am) and watch the sunrise. There r no chavvy ppl there and it is amazing. They also serve any thing you can imagine for breakfat lunch and supper. And there is food and drink avaliable 24 hours a day. You should really try it"

Brussels could be the capital of Belgium and could be the primary seat of the Belgian Royal Family and, also the capital of the European Union and if you want to know after that it here is the place hotelbye . Brussels is a remarkably little, easy-going, and human-sized city for many their importance. Unlike anthers city making use of their millions of tourists, Brussels is Belgium's main economic and instructional center, gives the city a more workaday sense than different towns. Here, in Brussels, if you'd decide to go to, you will get a proper feel for Belgian living, especially their fantastic cafe and café culture. While Brussels may possibly not have the star attractions of other Belgian cities, the capital has ample to keep visitors entertained for a day or two with a clutch of world-class museums and artwork galleries, along with quirkier views such as the Atomium, and some wonderful remnants of old structure in the previous town quarter.
