ok i just got done answering a simular question. In the Bible it says that you were suppose to date/marry/have sex with you family members to expand the earth, but now the world has expanded too much because of people like you. No you shouldn't date your cousin. And you all who are givng this chick answers of yes just shut up- it does not matter what state your from- Girl if you want my advice don't if God said to expand the earth and now that it is expanded, im positive that God intense for you to go with someone else.

I'm not sure about the laws in ALL states but I do know that a second cousin is not considered a close enough relation to cause genetic abnormalities in children. Therefore most states don't have any problem with it; in fact in many states it's not illegal to marry a first cousin. The bible certainly doesn't have anything against it. Many couples in the Bible were more closely related than second cousins.
Your family may be another story. Everyone has a different opinion of what is right and what is wrong.

Presumably it is legal but the medical side effects of marrying close relatives such as a second cousin have been known for a long time, probably centuries, in many countries. So it is not a new thing. A harsh and sad life, though, for the children of such a union who can be afflicted with medical problems. The probably of the birth defects increases for the blood relatives.

Yeah. Second cousins are distant enough. First cousins share enough genetic material that there is a risk of replicating family defects but unless you know of a specific law there should be no problem with marrying a second cousin.

I will first start out by saying,in our culture dating within the family is taboo.
Being cousins,it is hard to say ,how children from this union will turn out. If you are just considering dating and no sexual relations,it might be OK.
I have this problem within my family.My sister "married" our 1/2 sisters son.Gross,I know.They had 3 kids that turned out to have behavioral problems and decreased IQ.These kids will never be "normal" and it is not fair.
Think about your question and do some soul searching.

I would say it doesn't matter... except, if you end up having a physical relationship with him that results in childbirth, statistics prove that your child has a higher chance of more serious birth defects, such as physical deformities and mental and developmental problems. I suppose you could have a relationship, just not too physical, unless you're OK with having to raise a potentially (physically and/or mentally) deformed child.

It depends, if you're only related through marriage (not blood - same ancestors) then probably yes. If not, I would seriously recommend trying to view him more as a brother and not a bf. When ppl inbreed, their children have a higher risk of deformities and health problems. Perhaps you only like him b/c you see things in him that you share in common?

i know a guy who is in love with his first cousin, in some cultures its ok (they are from japan) i wont begrudge someone for how their heart feels unless its a brother or sister of the same parents
