At the moment I'm trying to make a horror flick, but I don't know anyone who would take me seriously. I tried a couple of people but they don't take me seriously because I'm 13. How do I get people to take me seriously despite my age?

Be really strict about it, so other people that don't believe you that they are wrong, show that your determine on what you want ,show explames on what you want to others, and then you'll get the attention, and prove the others wrong despite your age.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Thirteen is probably a good age to get started in movies. If you read interviews with today's holywood directors, they all got started early on with small movie cameras making movies in their backyards for their families and friends.

It would probably be difficult to get hollywood to take you seriously. Or anybody else trying to break into movies for that matter.

What you should probably be doing at this point in your life is reading everything you can about movie production. Also, watch all of the supplimental material on DVDs...especially the special editions. They are virtual mini film schools and you can learn right from today's best directors and special effects people. You can learn a lot from these. Then try to make movies using your own camcorder. You can do some basic editing with another VCR.

So, keep practicing, keep learning. Everytime you make a new movie, try to incorporate something new into it.

Maybe sometime in the future, you will be a major hollywood power player!

Good luck!

Show your script, if you have one. Tell them your plans, and a detailed budget. Or, get a few friends to make a cheap version to show people. If it is a gut wrenching amateur film than u know it will be good with a bigger budget.
