Because they know the Yankees are better and are getting healthy again. They can't take the pressure. Yankees are going to blow them away from here on in.

The Bo-Sox weren't smart enough to get something done before the trade line. So, first of all that hurt them, but what really hurts is the injuries. They can't use that excuse when people wonder why the Yankees passed them. The Yankees lost basically their whole OF. The Yankees were the smart ones by getting Lidle and Bobby. Now, the Bo-Sox might as well forget about winning the AL East now.

Excuse me, but the Yankees are playing A LOT better then the Red Sox right now. If we weren't playing well, then why are we in first place? Poor, poor Red Sox (not!!) They lost Varitek and Trot so that's why they are loosing so many games. And your manager didn't get better players because you all don't have a lot of money, like us Yankees do. GO YANKEES!!!!!!!!!! :-)

To all the Red Sox fans that are whining about injuries: Boo-Hoo! Yankees had way more injuries to overcome, and they persevered... I don't want to hear the excuse of "well this guy got hurt."

They (Red Sox) haven't been playing that bad... but they should have responded and made a huge trade after the Yanks dealt for Abreu. That was thier mistake.

Look, Kristy.....keep your comments to the skankees and leave the red sox alone. We are not complaining about losing and NY is not in first. If they are right at this moment, it's not a far lead. There's way too many games to come and we shall see exactly where both teams will be in the next 2 months.
Red Sox are still great...the pitching isn't as bad as everyone who bashes us thinks.....so back off bitches!!

Defensively, the Red Sox have been doing fine and lead the league in that department. Right now they are riddled with injuries--Veritek, Nixon, Wakefield-- and their pitching, except for Shilling , has fallen on bad times. Trust me. They will rebound and win the division and then the World Series.

Go Sox!!!

the Sox have lost a lot of key players recently ie. Nixon, Varitek, Wakefield. They're trying to get into the groove of having a different composition among the team. Teams go through slumps, that's just how it is. They felt that they didn't need players because the team is doing fine. They can still trade, just by different guidelines.

Go Red Sox. Yankees suck. The Sox will snap out of this little slump.

It's called a slump. That is what happens in a 162 game schedule.

I wouldn't worry too much. The Red Sox will snap out it soon enough.

There is still 2 months left to play. It's who's in 1st place on Oct. 3rd that really counts.

Because the Red Sox pitching is terrible.

i might extremely have Beckett totally rested than having started him final night. verify out it this way, say Beckett had pitched final night and lost. might you like the finished season to take a seat down back on the shoulders of Wakefield? that would desire to have been a worse subject. forget the payroll. That has not something to do with something as quickly as the gamers step on the sector. so a techniques as Francona is worried, the only reason he's lasted this long in Boston is because of the expertise on the team, not because of the fact of his managerial skills.
