Simple answer = ignorance. He was targetted by the old theory that if you point the finger long enough the ppl will believe someone is suspicious theory.

The republican party wanted to win control of the House and Senate so basically they set out with a huge smeer campaign against him with absolutely NO truths.

Proof in point: when Kenneth Star, the independent council, finally completed his investigation of all the charges against Clinton, ALL had to be dropped.

It was an effective and successful methos to win complete control of congress.

FINAL ANSWER = republicans are stupid, ignorant and lack insight to see through manipulation when they are being used. They are easily controlled by propaganda that motivates their hatred and prejudices.

The republican party is FULL of corruption that goes so far back that I havent had time to research it all.
Nixon - watergate
Reagan - Iran/Contra
Bush Sr. - World Bank scandal
Bush Jr - his entire administration is corrupt from Rove, Delay, Cheney to Bush himself.

I think that Bill Clinton was an amazing politician, and had more personal charisma than any other president in recent memory. That being said, I do not believe for a second that he was responsible for any of the economical leaps and bounds made in the nineties. I will always stand behind the idea that almost all of that came from two things, the explosion in the computer/internet/technology market, and the final results of Ronald Reagan's "trickle-down" economic system. People like to think that Clinton stepped in and miraculously created this wonderful economy, that is foolishness. And in the area of foreign policy I think he has many faults. He was offered Osama Bin Laden several times and did nothing about eliminating him, and he provided nuclear technology to N. Korea that is now allowing them to create a nuclear missle program. He was not all bad, but he is not the hero that radical Leftists make him out to be. Unfortunately, since the Clinton "scandal" was blown well out of proportion by the media, I think that from here on, we will see less interest in what our government in doing to us and for us, and much more energy wasted in espousing blind political philosophy to each other and screaming about why the "other guys" are completely wrong. Which is exactly what those in power want us to do.

Bill Clinton was a bad experience for the U.S. It is everyone's business that he had an affair and it is everyone's business that he cheated on his wife. The President and his wife are an American symbol. They are supposed to set an example. Do really think that a loaf of bread was a dollar cheaper because Bill Clinton was president??? He was the worst thing that could have happened to us. Ill tell u what, if Hilary is elected ill move out of this country, shell be alomost as bad.

I hope I have been able to answer your question .....take care

Bill Clinton is widely regarded as one of our smartest presidents. He is a terrific human being and good person. He was a very effective leader and is loved all around the world (unlike Bush). He will definitely be remembered, in my opinion, as one of the greatest presidents we've ever had.

The only people who don't like Bill Clinton are the extreme, right-wing conservative nuts.

I remember I could fill up my little Honda in the late '90s for $8-$10, now it's $25. Ridiculous!

Bill Clinton will always be a hero to me and the many millions and billions of people who admire and love him.

We Love You Bill Clinton and we miss you as President!

Thank you for being sane. I am amazed that you can find people who say President Bill Clinton was bad, or was the cause of all the evils of the world today. He is sometimes criticized as not paying attention to terrorism, that is a lie, he had an intelligence team that broke up 3 big al qaeda plots, and one of bush's first acts as president was to break up that team. President Clinton was probably the most successful president ever and people who trash him are unworthy, ungrateful and self decieved.

I agree with you. Clinton was a good man and a great president. He was slaughtered by the Limbaughs, the Huffingtons, and the other hard-line republicans. Look at where we were when he left office, despite the fact that the FED raised interest rates on his administration until just before the Republicans took over.

I like Clinton, as I believe most people do.....except the Republicans, who try to blame him for every evil facing this country today.

Uh, news flash? He IS a dishonest man, and I'm going to give you crap about adultery because it's true. He should have never been president, and I surprised anyone voted for him. I'm ashamed that so many people thought they were voting for a good man, but were upset when he turned out to be a terrible politician.

Everyone liked Bill Clinton the person. He's very charismatic. That's what makes him so dangerous. Jobs, money in the bank, cheap gas...doesn't mean much when terrorists are attacking and the government is using TANKS to bulldoze a church for a few "illegal" guns.

Sure , the NASDAQ was at 5200 (la la land) The Federal Reserve was jerking the economy around to such disastrous lunacy even they warned of the excess. What it all came down to in the end was irresponsible excess that could not be sustained. Then as it all crashed, the man left office and left the problem for another to deal with, typical.
