It would be of help , you bring with you an English-Spanish dictionary, when you are in Spain. Learn about the culture and language and history too. Travelling is educational and pleasurable too. That also applies anywhere you go. Knowledge is power!

Nope. If Mexicans don't have to speak English in America, then you certainly don't have to speak Spanish in Spain.

I've found that speaking Arabic or Japanese works best in Spain.

what do you mean: if [you're] Spain? do you mean, If you're FROM Spain? or if you're IN Spain?

if it's the first one: what other language would you Speak (I believe there are different dialects, but for the most part, yes)

if it's the second one: no, but it would probably be helpful.

I would think so, but more and more countries are speaking english these days, but to be on the safe side I would learn the basics.

Nope, you speak French. Let them accomodate you rather than you learning their language just like the Mexicans expect us to learn their language rather than them learn ours. Don't go over there legally either but expect them to give you citizenship when you break their laws as well as free medical care and all the other amenities we give to the Mex's.

yes, whatever country you are in, I feel you are obliged to learn that language as much as you possibly can and attempt to speak it. It's only fair since most people in the world have learned to speak English just to accommodate you.
