Firstly, enroll in Grammar 101.

Secondly, yes, taller grass holds more moisture when watered. More moisture = more water evaporation. More water evaporation = more cooling of the environs because evaporation is a cooling process.

Thirdly, feel good about not having to mow the lawn. :)

Global warming is such a controversial concept. Taller grass will reduce the amount of water you use, which will reduce the amount of fertilizer, which will reduce the amount of run off in the aquifer. If you live east of the continental divide, this will make my drinking water a little cleaner. I live in New Orleans and we get our water from the Mississippi River. So tell your wife you are letting the grass grow for those poor hurricane victims, and the quality of their drinking water. :-).
P.S. I'm doing this instead of cutting my lawn...why do today what can be put off until tomorrow?

Taller grass puts out more oxygen & uses more carbon dioxide. As for as global warming goes its a gimmick put on by the enviromentalist wackos and the too powerful EPA. 1 volcano spews more carbon dioxide into the air than all autos in the world. The Earth goes through cycles and were living in this one now.

Trust me, there will be no global warming, and there was never an ice age. Those are all silly things that were made up. So, you don't have to worry about your lawn and long grass.

You never know. But it won't hurt. Taller grass needs less water. If you replace your grass with ground cover that needs even less water, you will never have to mow!!!!
