I've been going out with this guy for like 2 1/2 months, all we really do is hang out sometimes, we don't call each other very much, we don't really have much in commen. We get along, and we've never fought, but half of me is just sick of having to deal with a guy I don't even really like that much, and I feel like I should break up with him, but then I keep thinking that's a stupid reason to, and I'm afraid to even break up with him, I'm way too shy. He's really nice, but I feel like sometimes he doesn't even like me for myself, he tells me I'm good looking a lot, and I think that's the only reason he likes me sometimes. I'm so confused, I don't even know how I feel, help?

I would say dump him. It doesn't matter if you are shy, just say that you never really talk to each other and you would like to see other people.

Sounds like he's a friend, not really a boyfriend... treat him as such.
Idea 1) Start talking about other people in front of him... "Pete's a$$ looked soo good in those jeans he was wearing yesterday..." se how he acts- if he's cool with it, then there's no problem- no "break-up" necessary.
On the other hand, if he gets all up-tight about it, bring the issue out in the open- "You're sounding a little jealous- why?" Don't sound like you're accusing him, just curious.
Idea 2) "I was talking with somebody in my History class (or whoever) the other day and s/he asked me how serious we were... I said not super-serious..." again, watch his reaction... follow up will be the same- no break-up needed or "Jealous? why?"

the key to being happy in any relationship is knowing yourself well...knowing what you like...what you don't like...set expectations for yourself...don't settle for less than what you deserve...just because a guy is "nice" does not mean that we have to stay with him...it's about YOU...maybe tell him that you think the two of you need a break from one another...that you need time to think and to sort things out...you have the right to do that you know...it doesn't have to be done in a harsh way...you should tell him how you feel...you should also pay attention to your own feelings...don't ever be with someone just for the sake of being with them so that you don't have to feel alone...finding yourself is a joy and a wonderful experience all in its own...i suggest that you start listening to yourself...and stop worrying about what everyone else thinks you should do...or being afraid to break up with him...if you are not happy...and clearly you aren't...then what is the point in keeping on with the relationship???...you are only being unfair to yourself...and what is the point of that???...life is too short to be unhappy...and sometimes you gotta break a few hearts along the way...it's a learning process for us all...good luck to you...DUMP HIM!!!!!!!

All that i can say is that he has a great love for you !!! believe me its true ...
.. go speak to him this matter very frankly ..
he is probably thinking your too good for him ... he is waiting for you to come and speak first. Remember never never ignore him nor cut short this relation suddenly .. it will hurt him a lot and in turn affect u a lot! this will make things more complicated.
And if u have some one in mind tell him directly ... and stop moving with him further

Your life is way too valuable to do what you're doing with this guy. You need to get out of this relationship, and find someone. Lukewarm doesn't get the job done, and that's what you have. Have some fun with the new guy after you break up with this one!
