What's a good first impression look for the first day of school?

I'm going to a new highschool and I have no idea what to wear for the first day of school.

Think classic but trendy.The lady-like look is elegant,never dates and is easy to keep up.The hootchie look gets a tad staleand can get you the wrong type of attention,so don't go there.Low cut necklines and too short skirts will only make you look like a streetwalker.Punk rocker is not the look for a new school,either.

No matter your hair type,keep it clean,shiny and smooth with a fresh shampoo,hot oil treatment,and regular trim. If you want to get a new haircut ,do so about 3 weeks before school starts so that you can get used to it and not feel self conscious about it.

A faultless look for school will always be a pair of boot cut jeans or dark slacks with a three-quarter length sleeve tunic or a cute zip-up fitted hoodie .Have you thought of trying a monochromatic look,it has a way of looking expensive and put-together-think in yellows,peachy or coral tones they tend to flatter most skin tones.The circle skirt paired with a twinset is sure to please anyone's eyes.And a drawstirng flared leg pair or sweat pants,no belly showing for school, is fine with a fitted colorful tee.Try to build a small collection of short and long sleeved tees and tailored button down shirts for quick and smart dressing on rushed school mornings

Shoes for school shouldn't be too high heeled,it isn't cool to twist an ankle on stilettos! Go for elegant little low heeled pumps or a pair of 1 inch high kitten heels in basic neutrals like black or dark brown.And get some nice Skechers in a basic shade that goes with everything.

For some really great back to school looks,grab a copy of SEVENTEEN magazine.They never let me down.I'd definitely trust this publication if I were in your shoes.Also see if you can get hold of a book called Frumpy to Foxy in 15 minutes flat by Elycia Rubin and Rita Mauceri.It's really written for us older folks in the 25 and up bracket,but you could learn quite a few useful things from these perky ladies.Track down Teen People Magazine and their Celebrity Beauty Guides.Look and learn from the celebrities but don't become a slave to fashion

Me too!! And to make it even worse, Im changing from a private school to a public school. What to public school kids wear? Alright, well im supposed to give you advice here, right? Well I would say something to make you stand out so you get noticed. Ask your friends what theyre going to wear! They might have some ideas for you too. I know Im always scared on the first day of school EVERY YEAR! Just dont look desperate for attention too, just grab a couple peoples eyes. You dont need the whole hallway staring at you as you walk through them, haha. So keep it simple, maybe like jean shorts and a nice polo or something like that!! GOOD LUCK!

It kind of depends on what's your style. I'd say something casual yet nice, like maybe a fitted sceen tee, jeans, and some flip-flops. It's something casual, yet sort of inviting, that gives off a "chill" kind of vibe. And for your books, I find it more fitting with the outfit to use an "oversized" tote bag that you can fit your books, binders, and school supplies into. But this is all if you don't really dress up much because you want to keep it as close as possible to how you always dress.
