When I lay down and i'm watching tv or whatever, my hips start gyrating. What the hell is wrong with me?

could be too much sugar but most likely the movement is not a sexual thing but more of a nervous tendency. Some tap their feet, others smack the lips, lots of strange movements. it can be stopped once you accept that you are in control, focus the energy into another form of release... like counting each time you do not gyrate. You will find something suitable.

Try to gyrate in the opposite direction till it stops

I saw a few of the answers. Interesting ideas. There is nothing wrong with you at all. People have all sorts of oddities such as foot tapping (mentioned), cracking knuckles, biting nails, sucking on fingers. I do have one question are you usually alone or is some one with you. If you do it when alone then it is merely a habit that you can control.

you have a gyration fixation, I think it's normal. If you do some leg, thigh and maybe buttocks excersises it will relax your muscles in that area.

i don't know go and check whit a doctor to make sure you don't have any complication are something worse
