i'll try to explain this, but it is hard to without a picture for you to look at.
1) lie down on you back
2) bend you knees so your feet are flat on the ground and are directly below your knees.
3) clasp your hands underneath your bottom, and scootch your arms under your back so your shoulder blades are off of the ground and you are resting on your biceps.
4) keep looking straight up to the ceiling, and make sure that you body is in a straight line.
5) tighten your butt muscles and keep your knees together and slowly raise and lower your pelvis like there is a string tied around your waist and it is pulling you up to the ceiling and then releasing.
this is gonna look kinda sexual, and you will feel like an idiot, but as long as you keep your butt tight, and your knees together, you should get results.
PS, this is pretty hard. i do it in a "boot camp" after school.

I wouldn't do squats, not for women at all. You should do aerobics, running, walking, or bicycling, and plenty of it, or at least a regular regimen.

walk or run up hill and ride a bike (especially if you are going uphill and stand up to pedal)
