For a start (if it hadn't revolted like the US did) it would have adopted the rational British-Parliamentrary system of government instead of the completly inefficient and unworkable Imperial-Republican system of the Europeans. It therefore would have developed a much superior, more representative and cleaner system of government.
It would have a system of Anglo-Saxon justice based on presumed innocence of the accused instead of the European system of presumed guilt. Therefore a much fairer and juster society.
The racial mixing would have occurred as it did in Mexico because most mixing occurred before the 19th. century, when Social Darwinism began the teaching of extreme forms of racism and racial superiority in the European countries thus ending almost all interbreeding between races for over 150 years. (It should be understood that the Mexicans were extremely advanced races, which more than any other factor influenced the early racial mixing much more so than the race of Europeans which were arriving.)
I'm not sure about the Virgin of Guadalupe which would appear to rest strongly upon a Catholic influence and which was an absolutely critical event in post Spanish Mexican developement. Without understanding the vital significance of the early appearance of this "Virgin of Guadalupe," one could never understand the speed of Mexican conversion to catholicism, nor the power it allowed the "oppressed" Mexican to retain within his own country.
The Virgin is a key reason why the Mexican was never "conquered" culturally by the Spanish, but retained a separate identity until the "Liberation." That question necessitates a longer examination than is possible here, but it is the key to answering fully what was asked..........

That is a question I have wondered about myself. For one thing, it is possible that the Indian population of Mexico would have declined like it did in the US because of deliberate genocide by the Anglos. As bad as the Spanish were, a lot of their abuses against the Indians were stopped by the Catholic priests, who would not have been present in an English occupation. I hate to say it, but the economy would be a lot better organized and less corrupt than it is now--the Moors left Spain with a tradition of bribery and corruption which the Spanish took to the New World. The political system would probably be better, too--Mexico suffered a long series of revolutions and coups in the 19th century, that probably would not have happened under Anglo occupation. It is a really interesting question, but I guess we will never know the answer for sure.

Depends.. Canada was a happy British Colony, and avoided any sort of revolution - as a result, they are still a part of the Commonwealth.
In terms of culture, Mexico would obviously be an Anglo country, but the proximity to Central and Latin America (as well as the Caribbean) would've still resulted in a different ethnic mix with the original inhabitants of the territory.
Though.. the British tended not to mix in with the "natives" throughout their colonial empire. I think you would most likely have today a dominant white class, with a large ethnically mixed majority.

It is not what part of Europe the coloners where from. It is what kind of people came and what religion they imposed. The rest is history.
