A level 2 ultrasound is a better ultrasound than the one that she had to see if the baby has a heart condition. I hope that all goes well with her and the baby.

Another term for a Level 2 ultrasound is "targeted ultrasound," and means pretty much what it sounds like; rather than just checking for routine stuff, like heartbeat and size, etc., the doctor or technician will be looking more closely for anything that was causing the regular doctor any concerns. A targeted ultrasound is also different from the one in the regular doctor's office because it's usually performed using better equipment, and the people performing the ultrasound and/or interpreting the results are specialists in ultrasound imaging.

A level 2 ultrasound is more detailed and they are able to take more time to get better pictures and more information. The person performing that scan has more training and experience in most cases. Hope that all is well.
