Who all thinks that it is still too early to make movies about about the World Trade Center attacks? There is a movie called "World Trade Center" that is supposed to be coming out and I believe that it is still way too early to make a movie about the Trade Center attacks because no one has really recovered from the attacks yet, especially the families.

The world may be ready for a 9/11 movie, but are americans truly ready? I can understand where everyone is coming from, but there are some people who believe that it is still too early and those who that there should be a movie out now, look at the movie "Pearl Harbor". It came out 50 years after the event happened. So my question should be, Are americans ready for a movie about 9/11?

It has been five years since that attack. The pain and the hurt for people that lost loved ones will continue forever.

It was on the news, the proceeds of this movie, are going to be given to make the Memorial of that day. I think this is a good thing.

The movie ends with people surviving, which is great. But so many lost their lives in that attack.

I watched the space shuttle go up with the teacher on board and in my minds eye, I can still see that thing explode. The same goes for the World Trade Centers. I can still see the one plane flying into one of them.

People will never forget because it was such a tragedy. AND it should never be forgotten. People gave their lives for others. I pray something like this will never happen again.

This question by way, is a very good one.

God help us all.

The movie isn't really about the 9/11 attacks, rather it's about a true story about two NYPD officers that were trapped inside the rubble and their incredible story of survival. I think it is the perfect time to release this movie because the events of that day are still fresh in most Americans minds, because these two cops stories have more of an impact today. If this movie was made in 10, 15+ more years when we don't remember the fear and sadness we went through their story wouldn't seem as remarkable. And I don't know how much, but a certain percent of the proceeds are going to the 9/11 relief funds.

you mention the movie Pearl Harbor coming out 50 years( it was 60 years) after the event happened. That was more of a love story with the attack at Pearl harbor as a background and the historical accuracy of it was poor. And that wasn't the first movie about Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor was featured in films back in the 50's and late 40's. Among the best ( for historical accuracy) was Tora!Tora!Tora! from 1970.
Is it too early for a film about the World Trade Center attacks? Not if it is historical accurate. and for the people would talk about Hollywood and their shallow insensitivity and greed. What else is new?

i agree with the fact that it's too early, to fresh in everybody's minds... i thought that the recent movie about one of the hijacked airplanes was too recent also... i think that the movie industry now looks at 9/11 as a way to make more money, which is sick, y'know! it's like they are profiting on people's patriotism, because who is going to see that movie advertised and think "wow, i really don't want to see that!" . Anyone who is patriotic and wants to show their "love of the country" or whatever is going to go out and see this movie, not for the fact that it brings back poignant memories, but because it is the "right thing to do". i think it is wrong that movie producers want to put horrible events like this into the movies, where it will be screened in a room next to "clerks 2" and "john tucker must die". It's too serious to be taken lightly like it's just any old movie.

i don't think it's too early. I mean i know where your coming from, but it happened 5 years ago! I mean i understand people are still trying to get over it, but this is a free country, if they don't want to see the movie, no one is going to force them into seeing the movie. For the people like me, i wasn't exactly sure on what all happened, so i'd like an idea. I watched that one movie, Flight 93, i cried like a baby! it was soo sad, but it really made me respect those people on that plane, they tried to stay alive they really really did. I also respect the airports for all the security they have now since the plane attacks, because of that movie. I really think that, the ones who made the movie were just honoring those innocent people who died on 9-11-01.
But thats just my opinion.

I think it's a pretty slimy move at this point in our history
To be capitalizing off of that miserable day.

And all that stuff Ann Coulter said about the 911 widows

enjoying the limelight after their husband's deaths is

it's own form of capitalizing upon the misery of others

through making contraversial shocking statements,

AND she sold a lot of books because of it,make no

mistake.Either that,or there must be a toilet paper

shortage somewhere.

Unfortunately for TV viewers,911 is a BIG buisness now.Stay tuned for

twin towers t shirts and merchandise because it's

going to happen

It WILL get to be THAT despicable eventually.

I think they should make it. The question is are you ready for it. If not you need to be.
Stop living in the area of "Oh no, not now"
It happened, it was real.
People need closure of what happened and by doing this film it will help people understand why it happened and what some people did to help.
I think it should be made while its still fresh in the minds of the people it affected.
Why make a story 50 years on when there wouldn't be people to say what really happened.

No, it's not too early. I just saw the movie last night , and although parts were depressing, there are some very uplifting moments in it as well. It's part of our history, and I think to revisit it is a good wake up call for us, so that it hopefully will keep us on our guard so that it doesn't happen again !

with the way that the USA likes to sensationalize every event
im surprised that a movie didnt come out 6 months after 9/11
but i agree. i think that even though it has been 5 years its a little too soon
im not one to talk, because i was not directly affected by 9/11
but i can only imagine the pain all those families went through
and now they see nicholas cage saving people who went through the same thing

I think it's stupid, the memory still lives on to this day after Afghanistan and Iraq. It's not needed to stir more **** up then whats already in the world today.

We all know and understand what has happened, they should leave it alone and let the families have some peace as well as the REST of the world.

******* Hollywood and their shallow insensitivity and greed to make money out of something so tragic and recent.

**** I remember it like it was yesterday watching it on TV and bawling my eyes out. ITS NOT NEEDED for the sake of the families and loved ones who have been lost, maybe in 100 year time.
