The world is disgusted by Israel's continued bombardment of Lebanon. Peopole from all over the globe took to the streets today to voice their disgust. Of course we will never be shown those images on Fox or CNN. It is sad that our news is so censored. Here is a report from the BBC website on a speech given by the Mayor of London today at the demonstration by over 100,000 who want to see an end to this violence and an immediate withdrawl.
Livingstone, Mayor of London, has sent the following message of support to the `ceasefire now' demonstration in London on Saturday 5 August.

"I want to welcome this demonstration to London. Your slogan for an immediate ceasefire has the support of the majority of the people of London, Britain and the entire world.

"Given its financial and military dependence on the United States, Israel could not continue its massacres of civilians and the destruction of the civilian infrastructure of Lebanon and Gaza for one more day if there was a united demand for a ceasefire from the international community.

"That is being blocked by the U.S., unfortunately supported by government policy in this country. We must fight to reverse this, including by a recall of parliament to allow MPs to discuss the issue.

"In order to get civilians out of the firing line immediately, there should be a simultaneous ceasing of Israeli air attacks on Lebanon and of rocket attacks into Israel.

"This week it was revealed that Israel's destruction of Lebanon was planned before the capture of the two Israeli soldiers. Indeed, it is well known that Israel illegally holds nearly ten thousand Palestinian captives and has been holding Lebanese prisoners for many, many years.

"If their concern is captured soldiers, let all prisoners held by all sides be released immediately.

"This conflict has seen the collapse of Israel’s entire strategy of imposing unilateral solutions on the Palestinians and its neighbours by building a `separation wall’. It is now clear that all sides can strike deep into one another’s territory and no wall will remove that threat.

"There will no unilateral solution. The only way to solve this conflict is for Israel to negotiate with the democratically elected Palestinian Authority and the governments of Israel’s neighbours to reach a comprehensive settlement based on the implementation of all United Nation resolutions – which must include the commitment by Israel to withdraw from all of the territories it has occupied since 1967 in contravention of UN resolutions."

That's quite a nice statement . It would be ever nicer if you would give some thought to the other side of the story.
Hey! how about that part that the destruction of Lebanon was planned before the capture of the Israeli soldiers. That's a good paragraph. I'm sure the Muslims would approve of it. Too bad you didn't mention where you got that that information. It never came out in the newspapers or TV news. Come on now, tell us who revealed it.
Yep, right out of your imagination. Release all prisoners ??? Why not ? Two innocent soldiers for one thousand terrorists. The soldiers were just standing guard. The prisoners that the Israelis are holding are proven terriorists bent of the murder of innocent prople.
But maybe you're right, two Israelis are worth one thousand Muslims. It was the Muslims who suggested the trade. They know how much two Israelis are worth.

Actually, I'm discusted by the genocide happening IN Israel. Why does no one scream about the suicide bombings and the rocket shot into Israel from Lebanon. The violence will stop when religious/fanatical idiots stop attacking Israel for just existing. The groups attacking Israel continue to refuse land-for-peace agreements, so why would Israel give up land it won in wars waged against Israel. Israel did not start these wars.

Maybe, and that's a big maybe, I wll worry about the people referenced in this question when the terrorists stop targeting innocent men, women and children in Israel and the rest of the world.

The people dying in Lebanon are the victims of war. They are not the targets of the attacks, but victims of war. Hezbollah (don't care about the spelling) randomly fires rockets/missles into Israel and you don't care about that...that is discusting.

Just saw Paul's answer...thank you.

Let's not forget what started this attack, the kidnapping. Israel responded to an attack on their soldiers. Attack one soldier, you attack all soldiers.

One think Israel would not need our support too kick any of those Arab a$$es...they could do it hands down...unlike some nations and people we happen too stand by our allies....

Get a grip. The world isn't disgusted by this, but ignorant people are. The world is disgusted by Islam's constant attempts to destroy anything & everything that doesn't conform to its narrow, violent, and oppressive religious dogma.

There is probably one lesson learned here. Don´t sneak across Israel's border and kidnap their soldiers and if you do it might not be a bad idea to return them right away.

I am not shocked.

I hope Israel kick some serious *** in Lebanon, and then go on to do likewise in both Syria and Iran.
