It may be helpful to outline the essay. You should have a topic and support for each of the body paragraphs. Each of the topics for the three body paragraphs should support the main idea or thesis in the introduction. Generally, the last paragraph is the point or recap of the essay. It should tie in with your outline well.

After outlining, use the material to summarize the paper. Since your outline should be single words or short phrases, this should help keep you from plagiarizing the original work.
