It's hit and miss as far as living here. I grew up in Los Angeles so for me it's culture shock. The people here are mostly techy or locals who have lived here their whole lives and they seem to like it. The "culture" here is mostly chain restaurants and faceless crappy clubs that give some sort of funny arrogance to people out here so i have to agree with that previous post. There's some nice people out here but it seems to be over run with a false sense of attitude. Schools out here are great though so if you come, get your degree and get out in my opinion. Good Luck.

If you are talking about san jose state then yes it is accredited.
And San Jose is a GREAT place to live, there is so much to do in San Jose, and you are really close to everything. the beach is only a half hour away the mountains only a couple hours away, and you are right in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the US, not to mention some of the nicest weather. SF and Monterey/Carmel are only an hour away, and pretty much anything you could ever want to do you can do it in or around San Jose.

Too hot for me! We have much better weather on the Coast! It's nice though. San Jose is a good university, I don't know about students from southern california, but I know they have a lot of students from outside the US.

San Jose State is a fine school..Not from that area but visit there on work often. San Jose is one big traffic jam, as is all of CA. Can have lots of smog in warm weather. Only good thing is that it is a little over an hour or so to Monterey, Carmel, and the coastal areas.

I have lived in San Jose for 10 years and even went to San Jose State.
I can't wait to leave!! Too many self-absorbed, arrogant, rude and money hungry people here. I know that there are also many good people here, but the former are over-running the latter.

San Jose is a CSU. There weather is sort of like southern California but you can breathe much better in San Jose. There are loads of trees (if you like trees). I think it's a more conveinent place to live in than in Southern California.

San Jose is a cool place. Lots of culture. Go to 6th Street if you like sushi and sashimi. The oldest Buddhist temple in the country is there too.

San Jose is an excellent place to live if you like warm weather, crowded freeways, astronomical rents and cool people.
