Unemployed people

The whole economy got rationalized. Huge hydroelectric projects opened up the South, the Southwest, and the Northwest to farming and industry. Banking control regulations made banking much more stable--your life savings weren't going to vanish in a day so you were more comfortable spending. Social Security kept older people from falling into poverty, and their spending helped keep people employed, too. Rational control of the economy with Keynesian methods prevented it from running into inflationary booms or more depressions. It was a great reform, very necessary, we were the strongest economy in the world because of it until the recent economic abuses by the present regime.

I would say general working folk. Unfortunately FDR did not use sufficient resources to fix the underlying problems of the depression and it went on until WWII came along.

haha..someone needs a history book!

Well, the New Deal was created to help relieve the nation of the hardships that the Great Depression brought..it really just brought on a lot of programs such as the welfare program and social security. It mostly benefited workers, farmers, and regulated large businesses.
