Don't usually answer or see questions this old but was a bit bored and saw you question that interested me

Do this

When you first start your computer - Keep on tapping the F5 key until you get a ADVANCED STARTUP menu

With your arrow keys select ENABLE VGA

If it asks you to select your operating system - select XP

win xp should start now but look a bit big

Now do this - don't worry this will not break your computer

right click my computer > then properties > then hardware > then device manager > click + next to DISPLAY that should show your graphix card - right click on it and then uninstall

should give you a warning - click ok

now goto the ide ata/atapi controllers - click on the plus + then right click on the controller > then uninstall >

should give you a warning - click ok

should ask you to restart your pc > click yes< it should then find new hardware and ask you to restart again

See if this helps

Graphic's drivers are basically what allows you computer to communicate with your graphics card - if they become corrupt the computer can not understand your graphics card

What I have shown above is have uninstalled the drivers for the graphics card and also the drivers for the piece of hardware that helps to translate for it - when it restarts Win Xp will load the default drivers for the Graphics card
