I think they live above it, but my friend says they don't. just wana see what other people think.

I have wondered that too... I think that just around a corner. They don't live above it, that's for sure, but VERY close by :)

Less than a 100 steps from Central Perk (Joey actually shows this to Chandler in one of the episodes)

From watching the program they give you the impression that they live right next to the park.
If you go to New York you find that the reality is, only millionaires can afford to live that close to the park.
Bedford Place (I think it's called) where the Friends actually live is in the Village which is quite a walk from Central Park.
Central Park is to the North East of the apartment block.
If you go to New York go on the film and TV tour and they will walk you right up to the apartment block.

It seems like they don't live very far...like maybe a block or less away? The only ones who have a car is Phoebe and Ross and they don't live in the same building as Joey/Chandler and Monica/Rachel.

i dunno i havent watched friends in ages i think its manhaten witch is a couple of blocks away from the cafe central perk.
