pda's give full mobile access to the internet, outlook, email, etc. it is their sole purpose. smart phones offer the same capacity but are limited in someways due to the phone elements they have. it's not a true mobile on the go sort of deal. PDa's offer you a true mini computer on the go and since there is no phone or whatever element associated with them, they can be full formed into your mobile office needs. smart phone offer you the same thing but not quite as good. just sort of another convenience factor.

I use my PDA because I do NOT want that information on a phone -- period! IT is my scheduler, my note-taker, my way I track everything from budget to where my children need to be for their activities. I have so little time left during a day that this Single Parent needs the PDA (and the ability to read my Office Software files at times -- it is MUCH easier to tote than my laptop), so my PDA is a functioning piece of my life (and so much easier to tote around than the old paper planners that were prevalent when I started working).

Smartphones are phones. PDA's are electronic organizers, you can't call people on them. However, PDA's can have more memory and better software as far as calendars, videos, music, office documents, etc. because they don't have room taken up by the phone components......... just depends on which ones you're talking about.

I use my PDA basically to store information to make it mobile (such as contact information) and also to keep my schedule straight (between my work schedule, class schedule, and meeting for the business I run it gets hectic) - plus I can store a lot of information for my job such as drug calculations and stuff which makes it right there at my fingertips incase I get in the back of an ambulance and get stuck on a weird drip ratio that we don't use often

All same. PDAs are little higher version.
Whatever it is all these high end phones are big boy's small, costly and prestigious toy. Only 10% to 20% of people who owns these do know actual use.
