The word venue derives from the Latin for to come, and implies a place that people come to. As such, the term is used about as variously as there are activities to meet together for. Generally venues have a specific purpose, though some, such as large stadiums, may be used for a number of different activities. try on-line dictionary for future reference next time. This will not make you seem so un intelligent.

It means 'come' in French, but in English it means the place where an alleged action or something took place often more as a legal term. It also means where a trial took place and from where the jury comes. It seems to mean the how the 'atmosphere' of a play or meeting takes place.
