So called "friends" that betray their friends are not friends at all, remove them from your life if someone you trusted betrays you, your worth alot more than them.

Some friends are as changing as the weather. It is just in some peoples character to cause conflict to see where it goes, and how many buttons they can push. Those ones you know are not your true friends and will never be. Some do it out of jealousy. Are they uglier than you?Fatter? Skinnier? It really doesn't matter I could not list all the things that some people are jealous over. Be the best person you can be and if they are your true friends they will stand beside you.

If a "friend" betrays you then their not really your friend. I hate to say it but they were probably just playing you and never really were your friend. A lot of "friends" just want something and once they get it they dump you, proving they weren't ever really your friend.
But some people just do really stupid things and don't mean them, those are the ones you should forgive. Sometimes we do things we don't want to and then they come back and stab us in the back so always mean what you say and do what you mean, that way you'll never be a "friend".

You need to clarify your question - betray you how? If a girl friend started dating an ex, that is one kind of betrayal. Further up on the scale, at least for me, would be a lie. Lying about what they are doing and not inviting you would be a serious breach of friendship for me.

Friends betray us because humans are not perfect. Everyone's actions are based on whats best for them, not others.

I don't practice in the BEST FRIEND business anymore!
Sad state of affairs when the world has to come to that!
Get ruthless baby! And keep your personal life, personal!?

As sad as it is a friend did that to me and i unknowingly did it to her let me explain:
My friend Megan* (names changed=*) and i had been friends since 3rd grade. She said she hated a girl at our school Destiny* when a week later they became friends...best friends...you know the kind of friendship 4 only 2 ppl and where they do stupid stuff...well i guess i felt out of it...b/c of other resons as well and Destiny started talking about me behind my back...so one day megan told me that she was cheating on her bf Tom* with a guy named Shane* snd that she was going to break up with him...So being one of Toms closest friends i had to tell him... He broke up with Meganand She was crying during last period (Destiny was 2!!!!) and i had become...LUCIFER! so i didnt talk to her 2 month and for some odd reason im suddenly her friend again...thing is....PEOPLE CHANGE...(AND IT SUX!)

Because it is easier to betray (or take granted) people you trust than it is to a stranger!
That's why it's easier to forgive a stranger than to forgiven a friend.
